Can Natural Medicine Actually Help a Snorer Stop Snoring?
Today I bring to you a wonderful guest post from a blogger I have been following for quite some time. Her name is Theresa Mcniven, aka Herbal Girl. She is a grandmother and the author of two Kindle books.
You can find her posting articles on various health and natural medicine forums and find all her social links on her forum profile pages. You will note the lady can write, so please take the time to pop over and check out her forum posts and articles. Also don’t forget to leave your feedback on this article by sending me an email.
People often ask me how I became such a proponent of natural medicine, especially when it comes to the treatment of snoring and sleep apnea. I am a breast cancer survivor thanks to traditional medicine. Natural medicine and traditional medicine are not mutually exclusive.

People often ask me how I became such a proponent of natural medicine, especially when it comes to the treatment of snoring and sleep apnea. I am a breast cancer survivor thanks to traditional medicine. Natural medicine and traditional medicine are not mutually exclusive.
On the contrary I believe that both can be used in a complementary way. With all that being said, the following is the story of my entrance and then embrace of the world of natural medicine as an effective approach to treating snoring problems.
When my son was small he was like any other child. He suffered from all the usual suspects: colds, flu, ear infections, etc. Like many other children he needed to have tubes placed in his ears to allow them to drain properly. Like other children he also consumed his share of traditional antibiotics.
My initiation to natural medicine came one day when my teenage son started snoring very loudly on a regular basis. None of the snoring pills or over-the-counter products we were given were working. The snoring sounds he made were soaring and medication was not bringing the snoring down. I became concerned about the possibility of brain damage because the snoring was literally making him delirious.
I was both frustrated and frightened so I called a friend for advice. This friend told me about a friend of hers who owned a natural health store. She called them and they said to come right over. Bear in mind that this was happening late in the evening.
We arrived at the shop and I was introduced to herbal medicine for the first time in my life. They asked me some very pointed questions and then gave me the herbs they thought would be most helpful along with instructions on how to use them.
Immediately upon arriving home again I made the tea. Although my son was delirious he could swallow just fine. I continued to administer the tea at the instructed interval. The waiting was excruciating. But the snoring stopped within the hour. I continued to give him the tea even after he complained about how awful it was, sure sign he was getting better.
Now some might say that it was all just a coincidence. My son’s snoring was ready to break no matter what I did. I disagree. Traditional medicine failed me and they needed an excuse as to why natural medicine worked.
I have actively used herbal medicine since that very frightful night all those years ago. Interestingly enough, my son has grown up to be an advocate of natural medicine as well. He holds the same attitude I do. Both traditional and natural medicine should be used in tandem and are complementary not contradictory to each other.
So as far as putting a stop to snoring is concerned, are you a convert to the use of traditional and natural medicine in tandem?
